Youths acquitted from explosives storing case

Manama : The High Criminal Court has acquitted two young Bahraini youths of making explosives as well as possessing gun magazines.

The duo, aged 19 and 24, landed in police net after officers discovered a house under construction was used for storing explosives and other tools utilised in rioting.

The seized items list included, according to court files, a home-made bomb, several fire extinguishers, electrical wires, paint bottles, 100 empty bottles, 200 nails ready to be used with the extinguishers, saws, car battery, a silicon gun, 18 mobile phones, gloves, SIM cards and black t-shirts.

The involvement of the youths were established in police investigations, thus they were put on trial. However, judges at the court ruled out their links to the incident due to lack of evidence.
