Housing project to begin soon
Manama : Work on 3,520-unit Al Ramli housing project will commence this year, Housing Minister Basim Alhamer announced.
He said that the Ministry had put out a tender to build 1,264 units, the ownership certificates of 40pc of which have been handed over to beneficiaries as part of the 3,200 units ordered by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Minister pointed out that the new city is a part of a plan to construct 25,000 units included in the Government Action Plan, emanating from the Royal order to build 40,000 units as soon as possible.
“The 100-hectar Al Ramli project is an integrated and sustainable housing compound aiming which has all facilities to meet the needs of a diverse community,” Alhamar said noting that first phase of the project will be completed between 2018 and 2019.
The project will be an integrated and secure urban residential area which will be self-sufficient regarding commercial, social and educational needs, as well as modern infrastructure. Alhamer explained that 65.94pc of the project will be allocated for residential neighbourhoods, and the rest for main streets, educational buildings, public garden, social services, public facilities and other purposes.
The work on all the strategic projects, such as the Northern City, the East Sitra City, the East Hidd City and the Southern City, is underway according to the Minister.
