Karting excitement returns to BIKC

ManamaThe Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) returns to action on Friday at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir with the third round of the 2016/2017 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) and the fifth round of the 2016/2017 Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS).

Racing will be held along BIKC’s 1.414-kilometre Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) Track, and many of the Kingdom’s top karters will be on hand.

Action begins at 3.45pm with a free practice session for the BRMMC competitors, followed by qualifying at 4.30pm and Rotax karters’ Pre-Final at 5.15pm. The final is then scheduled for a 6.15pm start.

In the SSWS, qualifying is at 4.10pm and will determine the grid for the Pre-Final at 4.50pm, which then leads to the Final at 5.40pm.

The BRMMC is for Rotax kart owners. This is one of the most highly competitive series with an expanded field of new drivers set to join this coming meeting in both the Max and Max Masters classes.

Those aged 15 and above are invited to take part in the SSWS. This arrive-and-drive championship is open to both men and women of whatever nationality or skill level. They race in identical Sodikarts provided for by BIKC.

Last November in the previous round under rainy conditions, Mohammed Mattar was the victor in the BRMMC, while Abdulla Buhindi won in the SSWS. Entry is free.
