Teenager gets three years jail
Manama : A teenager accused of robbing a motorbike has had three year’s imprisonment upheld. The 16-year-old boy is suspected of stealing a delivery motorcycle belonging to a local newspaper company.
The rider of the motorbike claimed that three men wearing faces masks, and holding knives came in a car and stole the bike from him.
One of the three suspects was eventually captured after police saw a child driving the stolen bike in Hamad Town. He was taken to police station where he revealed that the bike was given by his brother (the 16-year-old boy).
The latter was arrested and charged with robbery. “I was with my friends driving around Bahrain. One of my friends came up with the idea of stealing the bike,” the 16-year-old said during questioning.
The other two who are involved in the robbery, however, are still at large.
