Several injured as bus rams into wall
Manama : Several passengers were injured when a bus belonging to Bahrain Public Transport Company (BPTC) rammed into a wall at King Faisal highway towards Manama.
Confirming the incident through its Twitter account, the Ministry said, “Several people were injured in the accident occurred on the highway towards Muharraq.”
The mishap occurred when two cars collided on the highway and the driver of the bus reportedly lost control while trying to prevent a collision.
In the process, the bus careered across the road and crashed into the wall of the LuLu ground, shattering its windshield.
The accident caused heavy traffic conjestion, which was swiftly restored.
BPTC was appointed by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications under a 10-year agreement to operate Bahrain’s new Public Transport Network in accordance with international standards and practices.
