Fine finish for Bahrain Endurance team
Manama : UAE rider Hameed Al Mazroui of M7 Stable (6 hours 43 minutes 27 seconds) clinched first place in HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum festival.
Compatriot Mansour Saeed Al Faresi of MRM Stable (6:43:28) finished in second place, with another Emirati rider Salim Hamad Malhouf coming third.
Bahrain Royal Endurance Team jockey Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa (7:16:17) finished ninth and compatriot Mohammed Abdulsamad finished in 17th position.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, expressed his happiness at the success achieved by the festival.
Shaikh Nasser was in attendance and praised the support of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai towards developing endurance sport in the region.
During the Festival, Shaikh Nasser met Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
“The participation of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team in the Festival came to contribute in making this important event a huge success. We were looking forward to be present in this prestigious event, more than to achieve top results,” Shaikh Nasser said.
