Man gets five year jail for drug peddling
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a man to five years behind bars along with BD3000 fine for peddling drugs.
The defendant, in his forties, was caught in a sting operation after selling shabu worth BD280 to an undercover police officer.
According to court files, the operation was planned after police received a tip off about the defendant carrying drugs and a digital scale in his bag.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, an Arab man was handed down 10 years behind bars for peddling hashish. He was also lured into selling drugs by a police officer in plain clothes.
