HM King issues Law 1/2017 to protect society from AIDS
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Law 1/2017 to protect the society from Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
The law defines the duties of the Health Ministry and the relevant institutions regarding the detection of cases, patient treatment and care and the provision of legal counselling, training and rehabilitation in compliance with the Constitution, international conventions and applicable laws. The law also defines a patient's rights and obligations and the methods to fight the disease and protect the society from AIDS.
The Prime Minister and each of the ministers in their respective domain have been tasked to implement this law which becomes effective from the day following the date of its publishing in the Official Gazette.
