Delight for Bahraini falconers

Manama : Bahraini falconers have come through with flying colours in the latest edition of the popular falconry contest held in Dubai. 

Keeping the Bahraini flag flying high in the contest were Salman Al Boluchi, captain of BHR Team, and his compatriot Ali Saeed Kambash. 

Beating extreme conditions, Salman Al Boluchi clinched first place in the event, which witnessed strong competition from GCC-based participants. Ali Saeed Kambash took the third spot. 

The event held as part of the Fazza Falconry and Hunting Tournament was organised by Hamdan bin Mohammed Centre Heritage Centre. Fazza Championship for Falconry is one of the most popular Fazza heritage competitions.

Al Boluchi dedicated his victory to Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid for their unwavering support to Bahraini falconry.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, congratulated Bahraini falconers on the success.

Congratulating Al Boluchi, Shaikh Nasser said, “This achievement adds to the accomplishments made by Bahrainis in the sport of falconry under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who had given tremendous support in preserving and promoting the sport.”

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of West Asian Athletics Federation, President of Bahrain Athletics Association said the results encourages “to provide more support to Bahraini falconers”.
