Sexual abuse of minor: Court ruling on February 23
Manama : A 64-year-old cold store owner, accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl will learn his fate on February 23.
The girl was a regular customer of the cold store and used to go there frequently with her disabled brother.
On the day of the incident, the cold store owner sexually abused her, kissing and groping her private parts, following which the girl complained to her father.
On further enquiry by the father, it was found out that the shopkeeper sexually abused her on multiple occasions, and threatened to jail and beat her if she informed anyone.
The defendant, however, denied committing any foul play, stating that his wife and children are always present in the cold store and many children visit it often. He was charged of sexually assaulting a girl aged below 14.
