24hr race at BKIC

ManamaBahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) this weekend hosts the third and final round of the 2016/2017 Bahrain Karting Endurance Championship with a 24-hour race, flagging off at 2pm on Friday and ending the same time on Saturday.

A total of 16 teams have signed up for the event and squads have come from all over the world, including Russia, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and host nation Bahrain.

Action gets underway at 10.30am on Friday with a 15-minute practice and followed by Qualifying Practice from 10.50pm to 12.20pm, after which the Final Qualifying Session will take place from 12.40pm to 1pm. Heading into the race as the heavy favourite is the Batelco Drag 965 Racing team who won both previous rounds and lead the championship standings with a maximum 60 points.

Also taking part and looking to mount a serious challenge for the overall podium will be Zain Racing and Zain Dangerous, BBK Racing, Ithmaar BRM, Bell Racing, Bell Racing Europe (Belgium), FunXtreme (Saudi Arabia), Texel Air, BICMC, Omantel (Oman), Racing on Fire, PKE, Pit Stop Karting (Russia), 6 Speed KSA and Overtake Racing (Kuwait).
