Gulf Run set to roar
Manama : Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is set to host the 12th edition of the annual Gulf Run tomorrow and Friday in Sakhir, with around 60 cars being brought in from Kuwait to take part.
The two-day event will be in action from 8am up until 7pm on both days.
The event is opening its doors to the public for the very first time and organisers are inviting all motorsport enthusiasts to come to BIC and enjoy everything on offer.
Aside from being able to watch the racing, there will be recreational activities for the whole family, especially young children and entrance is completely free of charge.
This year’s Gulf Run is set to host a series of exciting events taking place along a couple of BIC’s world-renowned tracks. There will also be action along BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip, which has been named by the US-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) as a part of the NHRA Worldwide Network.
Gulf Run CEO Ahmad Al Mudhaf expressed his delight in being back at BIC for another edition of the event and said it is always an enjoyable and memorable occasion for all those who participate and succeeds in its aim of promoting safety on the roads, especially amongst youth who are big fans of motorsport.
Al Mudhaf thanked BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa and the entire BIC team for their exceptional work as hosts each year.
He said that it is because of BIC’s signature hospitality and smooth running of the event that they are always happy to come back to Bahrain and hold the meeting in Sakhir.
Like every year, Gulf Run showcases many top-of-the-line sports cars from major internationally renowned brands such as Lotus, McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, BMW and many more.
It is one of several major motorsport events hosted by BIC throughout the calendar year and the circuit is a favourite amongst racing enthusiasts from across the region, and it regular hosts visitors from nearby countries to test their driving or riding skills on the race track.
