Bahrainis in US told to finalise pending violations
Manama: Bahrain Embassy in Washington DC has requested to all Bahraini citizens and students to finalise any pending traffic violations, court cases, financial obligations before travelling outside of the US.
The announcement comes in the context of US Presidents Donald Trump’s recent executive order suspending the entry, regardless of valid non-diplomatic visa, of alien nationals from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days, after which an updated list of prohibited countries will be determined.
It also suspends entry of refugees from Syria indefinitely.
The Embassy clarified that Bahrain is not included in the immigration executive order.
However the Embassy requested students to register with the Cultural Office which connects Bahrain and the US by managing Bahraini student needs in North America and fostering relations between the US, Bahrain, and Canada.
‘Muslim ban’ doesn’t affect Bahraini citizens. ‘Stay vigilant and abide by rules and regulations while entering the US, the Embassy said.
Bahrain is the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet.
