ManamaIsa Al Ruwaie, the Chief Prosecutor at the Terror Crime Prosecution, yesterday said that investigation has begun into January 26 incidents in which a terrorist group targeted security men and vehicles and attacked public and private properties in various parts of Bahrain.

The Public Prosecution was informed by the National Security Agency that suspects were arrested on January 26 as part of its investigation and search to identify all terrorists implicated in targeting security forces and private and public properties. The investigations led to seven suspects who joined in the terror group and arrested three of them as the search continues to arrest the others. Weapons, explosive devices found in their possession were confiscated.

The first suspect confessed he joined the terrorist group and sheltered wanted fugitives. The second suspect also admitted he joined the group and assisted in taking first aid to those injured during confrontations with the security forces.

At the request of the Public Prosecution, investigations were conducted by police and led to the identification of the culprits who committed the crime.

Investigations indicated the suspects had set up the group, recruited members who assisted them in their terrorist crimes.

The Public Prosecution questioned the suspects and provided them with all the sureties under the law and charged them with setting up and joining a terrorist group, possession and using weapons and explosive devices.
