Warm welcome to HM King in Riyadh
Riyadh : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Riyadh yesterday on a visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
HM King Hamad will attend the opening ceremony of the 31st edition of the National Heritage and Culture Festival, held annually by the Saudi National Guard Ministry under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at Al-Janadriyah region.
On arrival at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, HM the King was welcomed mainly by King Salman, members of the Saudi Royal family and the Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
HM King Hamad delivered a statement in which he expressed pleasure to participate in the 31st Al-Janadriyah Festival at the kind invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
“This festival has become a civilisational tradition, and an Arab and human platform that brings together an elite of writers, intellectuals and researchers from all over the world,” HM the King said.
HM the King lauded the festival which, he said, aims to deepen the civilisational identity and maintain the generations’ communication with their heritage, culture and traditions. HM added that the festival has become a key event that embodies the authentic Islamic heritage and attracts prominent Arab and Islamic intellectuals. “Al-Janadriyah Festival has become a model to be emulated in the GCC and Arab countries,” HM King Hamad said.
“The festival has a special status, and that’s why we have been strongly attached to it ever since it was launched. We are happy to make this brotherly visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, whose support to the glorious national festival we highly appreciate,” HM the King added.
HM the King stressed strong and historic fraternal relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, commending the historic and honourable stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards Bahrain which reflect deep-rooted ties binding both countries.
King Hamad valued highly the progress boom witnessed by Saudi Arabia in all fields during the era of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, commending King Salman’s efforts to defend Arab and Islamic issues, rally ranks and support legitimacy backed by the UN resolutions.
His Majesty wished the festival continuous success, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless both countries with constant security and stability.
