Al-Basta mart opens today

Manama : The seventh week of the fifth edition of the Al-Basta Market will open today at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), with the participation of the characters of the UAE popular sitcom, “Shaabiat Al Cartoon”. Bahraini music bands will perform folk songs.

This year’s edition aims to consolidate Bahrain’s cultural identity through the focus on theatrical shows that will bring to life Bahrain’s traditions. 

Organised by the Southern Governorate, the Al-Basta Market provides a platform for vendors from individual to families, micro and small enterprises as well as farmers from Bahrain’s governorates to display their products.

The Southern Governorate has called on all the citizens and residents to visit Al-Basta market to enjoy family shopping and the market’s various activities.

Al-Basta market aims to enable the citizens to enter the labour market easily and offer local and homemade products, facilitate the communication among producers, consumers and society, educate consumers about the sustainability of recycled products and the real cost of imported goods and provide a platform for the sale of recycled or environmentally friendly organic products.

Al Basta 5 is held on a weekly basis on Friday and Saturday until February 11, 2017. It opens from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).

Al Basta, the largest shopping festival in Bahrain, is organised by the Southern Governorate in collaboration with Tamkeen, public and private sector institutions.
