Augmentin safe for kids: NHRA

ManamaAugmentin antibiotics are safe for kids use, health authorities confirmed, rebuffing online reports that the drug is harmful to children.

National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) denied in a statement the information circulated on local social media networks recently, alleging that Augmentin is unsafe for children use. The authority described the information as “incorrect altogether and it’s not based on any scientific information”.

“This type of medication is approved by the authority and is totally safe for using, in accordance with the prescribed dosages and patient’s weight. It’s free from any medical warnings,” NHRA’s statement read.

NHRA also called upon the public to seek accurate information from authorised sources only. 

“Information being circulated on WhatsApp is not always genuine,” the authority added.
