ICC to hold seminar on life of expats

Manama“Loyalty to Bahrain: The Experience of Expatriates”, a seminar to highlight the experience of expatriates of all nationalities in Bahrain will be held on February 13 at the Isa Cultural Centre (ICC), located within the campus of Ahmed Al Fateh Mosque in Juffair.

All expats in the Kingdom have been welcomed to the seminar, organised by the ICC to mark the 16th anniversary of the National Action Charter.

“The National Action Charter was a cultural and social watershed for the citizens of Bahrain. It was the product of wise leadership and embodied the spirit and underscored the values of the Kingdom and its people,” ICC Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said.

“Bahrain leads the whole Arab world as the destination most favoured by expatriates,” he said stating that the Kingdom ranked 19 in a global survey of expatriate living by ‘Expat Insider’ in 2016.

“The report emphasised the factors that gave Bahrain this enviable position which was not merely based on financial benefits of living and working in the Kingdom, but on its social and cultural life which together with Bahrain’s renowned reputation for tolerance for all people and all faiths makes it such a preferred destination,” Shaikh Khalid stated.

“The ICC also wishes to draw attention to the loyalty displayed over many decades by Arab and other foreign communities in Bahrain and their integration into Bahrain’s society which has been based for generations on peace, harmony and tolerance and which has, in turn, created a truly diverse social fabric. The seminar will discuss all these issues and will also be an opportunity for a number of expatriates from a range of communities to express their personal experiences and feelings about the Kingdom,” he added.
