Festival City attracts 45,000 visitors
Manama : Festival City, one of the main attractions of the third-edition of the Bahrain Shopping Festival ‘Shop Bahrain’, wrapped up its activities on Monday after a successful period of 17 days.
More than 45,000 visitors have visited the Festival City, which featured a slew of activities including games, market, outdoor cinema, live performances and musical acts.
“We are pleased with the success of Shop Bahrain. Till date, the third edition, has received more visitors compared to the figures of last year. During the first week of the festival, we have witnessed an increase of 7pc in the number of visitors, which accumulates to 20,000 visitors, compared to the previous year,” said the Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.
More than 80pc of the visitors to Shop Bahrain are from Saudi Arabia, followed by Qatar and then Kuwait and the United Arab of Emirates.
“We are also expecting an influx of tourists during the coming weeks with an aim of attracting around 80,000 visitors during the one month Festival,” Shaikh Khalid said.
‘Shop Bahrain’ offers visitors a chance to win valuable prizes through the Festival’s loyalty system and enter the raffle draw to win 12 cars, airline tickets, and more than 25,000 instant scratch and win prizes.
