SHOP BAHRAIN FESTIVAL

The third-edition of the Bahrain Shopping Festival, ‘Shop Bahrain’, is a unique 30-day celebration of Bahrain’s hospitality and tourism offering for the entire family and boasts a wide range of events and unbeatable promotions for residents and visitors. The festival will mirror the Kingdom’s position as an accessible family destination, renowned for its close proximity to the Gulf countries with easy access through the King Fahad Causeway and the Bahrain International Airport. The Festival will offer an incredibly diverse range of retail experiences. Shop Bahrain will feature a ‘Festival City’, located in Bahrain Bay, and will boast a number of activities for the entire family including games, food stalls along with live entertainment and performances.

GAZING AT THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD: JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPHY FROM 1970S TO THE PRESENT 

Date: Ongoing till 4 March 2017, 8:00am - 8:00pm 

Venue: Bahrain National Museum 

Presenting an overview of the photographic expression that has emerged in Japan since the 1970s, this exhibition includes 76 photographs by 23 photographers. The exhibit is divided into two sections, the first, “A Changing Society,” focuses on human beings as members of society. The second, “Changing Landscapes,” looks at cities, the suburbs and nature. This exhibition is presented in Bahrain in cooperation with the Japan Foundation. 

 

TASTE TOUR 

Date: Till 18 Feb 2017 

Time: Based on each restaurant’s operating hours 

The ‘Taste Tour’ will return this year and will include a total of 29 participating restaurants. Participants will be able to sample dishes and vote for their favorite restaurants. They will also have the opportunity to win An Infinity Q50 car from YK Almoayyed & Sons as part of a ‘The Taste Tour’ raffle draw. 

“LOYALTY TO BAHRAIN: THE EXPERIENCE OF EXPATRIATES” 

Venue: Isa Cultural Centre (ICC) 

“Loyalty to Bahrain: The Experience of Expatriates”, a seminar to highlight the experience of expatriates of all nationalities in Bahrain will be held on February 13 at the Isa Cultural Centre (ICC), located within the campus of Ahmed Al Fateh Mosque in Juffair. 

All expats in the Kingdom have been welcomed to the seminar, organised by the ICC to mark the 16th anniversary of the National Action Charter. 

“The National Action Charter was a cultural and social watershed for the citizens of Bahrain. It was the product of wise leadership and embodied the spirit and underscored the values of the Kingdom and its people,” ICC Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said.

JEWELRY DESIGNING 

Date: Today and 23rd February from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m 

Venue: Bait Al Tijjar 

The pearl, gold, and jewelry sector committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is organizing two specialized courses in jewelry designing in cooperation with HRD- Antwerp Institute of Gemmology between 13th and 23rd February from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Chamber’s premises (Bait Al Tijjar). 

In this regard, board member and head of the committee Ms. Deema Al Haddad called all concerned to attend the courses which will enable participants to use various designing techniques and stress on current trends in jewelry designing.
