Warm welcome to President Erdogan

Manama : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official visit to Bahrain at the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, arrived here yesterday. 

King Hamad along with Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa accorded a warm welcome to the Turkish President. 

His Majesty the King and Turkish President had a short rest at the master protocol lobby at the Sakhir Airbase before heading to Al-Sakhir Palace, where an official welcome was held for the Turkish leader and the anthems of the two countries were played. 

HM the King and President Erdogan held a meeting, in the presence of HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince as well as the two delegations, and reviewed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest. 

HM the King took pride in President Erdogan’s key visit which, he said, reflects the deep-rooted relations binding Bahrain and Turkey, stressing the two countries’ determination to expand cooperation and usher in new horizons for joint relations. 

“The meeting with President Erdogan represents a good opportunity to consult and exchange ideas concerning steadily-growing relations on all levels”, King Hamad said, hailing the constructive and fruitful talks which focused on the current regional and international developments, particularly in the backdrop of the situation unfolding in the Middle East region. 

HM the King underlined the crucial role of the two countries in consolidating security and stability in the region, hailing the talks which, he said, reflect strong desire to bolster fraternal relations and explore the adequate ways to overcome problems and end crises which are ravaging the region.
