Bahrain Sharia Court judge dies

Manama : High Sharia Sunni Court of Appeal President Judge Shaikh Ibrahim bin Abdullatif Al Sa'ad passed away today and his body will be laid to rest following Dhuhr prayers (midday) at Manama Graveyard. 

The deceased comes from a family of imams and khateebs and his father presided over the sharia juidiciary and judges in the 1960s. His grandfather was the imam and khateeb of Al Fadhel mosque in Manama and had rewritten historic books that are now exhibited in Bahrain National Museum.

Shaikh Ibrahim graduated from the notable Al Azhar University in the late 1960s after finishing a decade of high sharia studies. Then he was appointed as the successor of his uncles to become the imam and khateeb of Al Fadhel mosque.                        

He began his journey in sharia judiciary in the early 1970s. The deceased was remembered to be humble and receive the people of Bahrain of all faiths at his daily majlis (community gathering) that followed Al Isha prayers (night).

Condolences could be offered starting today at Al Fadhel mosque in Manama.
