Young talents shine in Future Star Festival

ManamaBahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) yesterday successfully organised the one-day Future Star Festival Mini Tennis at the Bahrain Polytechnic courts in Isa Town, under the supervision of tournament director and former Bahrain Davis Cup player Abdul Rahman Shehab.

The event sponsored by RJ Investments Holding featured 42 up and coming youngsters, with 15 in the Unisex 8 years and under split into two groups playing round-robin on three-quarter and mini courts using red and orange balls and the Unisex 10 years and under featuring 27 players on full-size courts also playing round-robin.

“This event was organised with the emphasis of player development and to play a certain number of matches, with individual trophies given to the best individual category performers,” Abdul Rahman Shehab said.

After the competition, players were given a classification and a medal for their participation in the event and a number of individual awards handed out.

 

Individual Awards: 

Best Backhand: Rushikesh Sonawane.

Best Forehand: Rohan Mukherjee. 

Best Fighter : Dhruv Karia. 

Best Boys Player: Maro Ugarkovic.

Best Girl Player : Boudica Verbeek.

Sportsmanship: Essam Janahi.

Youngest Player : Elyas Abdul Karim.
