Prevent immoral traffic, government urged
Manama : A veteran lawmaker has called upon the Government to reconsider entry granted to certain nationalities that have been frequently involved in unethical activities in Bahrain.
In the efforts to combat vice in the country, the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Abdulhalim Murad demanded the authorities to reconsider providing entry visas to nationalities proven to misuse such facilities to conduct immoral activities here.
“The authorities should reassess the entry procedures of nationalities being continuously involved in immoral activities. This situation should be addressed according to the laws and regulations to protect the Bahraini society,” said Murad.
The MP’s proposal comes as Bahrain offers entry to nationals of 114 countries, with less requirements.
It has been revealed that some nationalities, mainly European and Asian, are misusing visa procedures to enter and work in prostitution rackets and other illegal activities.
Demanding an immediate action against it, Murad said, that immoral practices are being carried out by some nationalities.
These acts are against the kingdom’s laws and regulations. This has a huge damage on the society.
“The Bahraini society is known for its good manners and commitment to the Islam teachings. Our society is based on religious instructions. The second article of the Kingdom’s constitution stipulates that Islam shall be the religion of the State, Islamic Sharia a main source of legislation, and Arabic the official language,” legislator Abdulhalim Murad added.
