BIGS 2017 winners announced

Manama : Bahrain International Gardens Show (BIGS2017)  concluded yesterday with the number of visitors reaching more than 40,000 from countries around the globe especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), authorities stated.

The organisers also announced the winners of BIGS prizes of this years show, held under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the support of Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women Chairwoman Chairperson of the Consultative Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Ministry won the first prize scoring 432 points followed by the Ministry of Education(397 points) in the second place and the Supreme Council for Environment (375 points) in third. 

The winners were awarded in the category of the ‘quality of exhibited items’ and the ‘best presentation of items’.

In the design category, the Kingdom Enterprises scored 477 points winning the first prize followed by Alba (434) and the Royal Court (407). 

Several local and overseas companies won in the category of variety commercial items displaying.

The winners of BIGS prizes were selected after a thorough assessment by an expert panel.

Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) expressed her gratitude and appreciation to all the local and overseas exhibitors and the participants for their efforts and contributions which ensured such aesthetic and successful showcasing of the exhibition.

Meanwhile the Kingdom Enterprises signed agreements with overseas companies from Canada, China, Italy and the Netherlands on the side-lines of their participation in BIGS 2017.
