Lanceley triumphs
Manama : Jim Lanceley (36 stableford points) won the second round of the Audi Quattro Cup Series at the Royal Golf Club to propel himself to the top of the series order of merit with 69 points and pushing last month’s winner, Sam Hobday (64) into second place on the leader board.
Youngster Ali Al Hakam (34) narrowly clinched the runners up spot in the February qualifier on count back, while Nasser Yaqoob and Rehman Tipu won the 2s Club on hole 12 and Steven Hill won on hole 16. A field of over 50 players turned out to do battle in the prestigious series, with the winners having an opportunity to compete in the World finals, which this year will be held at Quivira Golf Club in Cabo San Luca, Mexico, in December.
