Bahrain, Qatar to bolster ties

DohaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa held a meeting with the Qatari Emir, Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

Held as part of HRH the Prime Minister’s official visit to the State of Qatar, the meeting reviewed the fraternal bilateral relations and ways to bolster them in a way that broadens areas of joint cooperation and meets the aspirations of the two brotherly countries.

The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Qatari Emir, Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the State of Qatar.

The Qatari Emir welcomed HRH the Prime Minister, and affirmed the importance of his visit in consolidating the Premier’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

In this regard, the Premier stressed that his visit to the State of Qatar embodies the depth of the long-standing bilateral relations, and strengthens the already solid brotherly joint cooperation. The visit consolidates conformity of stances and keenness on increasing coordination amid the current situation in the region, and re-affirms the shared desire to enhance consultation and coordination vis-à-vis issues of common interest, the Premier said.

Prince Khalifa and the Emir of Qatar agreed on the importance of accelerating the pace of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields, stressing that the way is paved for broadening bilateral cooperation, given the distinguished solid relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the Qatari Emir for the gracious welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation, which, he said, reflects the advanced ties binding the two countries. HRH Premier and the Emir also reviewed the latest regional and global developments. Prince Khalifa stressed the need to develop methods of cooperation among countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council so that they become more capable of facing the global security and economic challenges.
