Four fugitives among five sentenced to jail
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced five persons to three years behind bars after one of them caught for hiding the other four fugitive men in his apartment.
According to court files, the apartment was occupied by the first defendant and his wife, but he decided to provide shelter to four suspects who were wanted by police in connection with murdering police officer, Abdulwahid Faqeer who was killed in an explosion in Dair.
The first defendant said that he accepted to offer other defendants haven, after his cousin proposed this to him. He told prosecutors that his apartment had two rooms, one of the rooms he gave to them, while he reserved the other for him and his wife.
According to court files, the defendants were nabbed on their third day of their stay.
