Indians top investors in Bahrain: Minister
Manama : The majority of foreign investors in Bahrain are Indian nationals, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani has said.
In reply to query in the Parliament, Zayani said that Indian investors figured top in Bahrain, with 968 investors, ahead of Egyptians, Jordanians, Chinese and Brits, who figured in the first five spots, respectively.
Minister Al Zayani announced that more than BD1.7 million is invested by Indians in Bahrain, adding that they form around 50 per cent of foreign investors in the Kingdom.
He said that Bahrain has been ranked in the 73rd position among the most attractive countries for investors in the world this year, after it was ranked by the World Bank in 142nd place in 2016.
The minister added that investments of residents in Bahrain is more than BD22.5 million. More of this will be discussed in the upcoming weekly session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, as Al Zayani will be present to answer several queries of MPs.
