VIVA Bahrain makes its mark in Mobile World Congress

Manama : VIVA Bahrain, a subsidiary of STC Group, participated in  the recently held Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, which is one of the world’s largest mobile industry gatherings held in Barcelona, Spain. 

Through its participation, VIVA connected with high-profile industry experts and government authorities and showcased its latest mobile-connected products and services.

Led by STC Chairman Dr. Abdulla Al Abdulqader, VIVA Bahrain Chairman Eng. Abdulla Al Zamami, VIVA Bahrain CEO Ulaiyan Al Wetaid and STC Group senior management officials, the team exhibited its latest offerings to international delegations and top government officials including Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Kamal   Ahmed.

“We are proud to continue our participation in one of the biggest international mobile industry networking events that has helped us gain a better understanding of our current and prospective clients’ evolving needs,” said VIVA Bahrain CEO Eng. Ulaiyan Al Wetaid. 

“This step also aims to grow our global presence and help position Bahrain as a key telecommunications player in the regional marketplace.”

VIVA’s participation has furthermore resulted in two MoUs focused on the development of new technology services and the enhancement of IT infrastructure. The agreements will also explore new opportunities that support capacity talent development and strengthen the companies’ technical capabilities. 

The four-day event organised by the GSMA Association ran under the theme “The Next Element” and welcomed over 108,000 attendees including more than 2,200 exhibitors and 3,900 media representatives from across the world.
