14 weighing scales seized from shops
Manama : The Directorate of Standardization & Metrology of the Ministry of Industry Commerce & Tourism yesterday seized fourteen measuring scales from various shops in the Kingdom, as it did not meet the required standards.
The move comes as the Directorate, in cooperation with municipality of Manama launched an inspection to check the measuring instruments used in Jidhafs Central Market.
The checks, which commenced in the early hours, was carried out in all shops during which the officials checked the weighing balances of 76 scales in total.
Chief of Standardization & Metrology Mona Alalawi urged shop owners to verify their measuring instruments and get their devices checked in the Directorate at the Financial Harbour gate.
