Cheer for women married to locals

Manama : The Cabinet meeting held yesterday endorsed a proposal by the Representatives Council to extend the residency period for foreign women who have been married to Bahrainis for more than five years and have children from two years to a renewable five-year period.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa informed the decision while chairing the regular weekly Cabinet session held at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. The Cabinet meeting was attended by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. The Cabinet discussed the ratification of the agreement signed between Bahrain and Russia on transfer of sentenced persons. The matter has been referred to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs to carry out the ratification procedures. The session also discussed an agreement between Bahrain and the Republic of Korea on air traffic services between and beyond their respective territories. This was also referred to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
