Council approves study on renovation of old buildings
Manama : The Capital Municipal Council that held its meeting yesterday at the Ministry of Municipalities Hall, Manama, discussed bills and proposals numbering to six.
The 19-member council was chaired by Mohammed Ali Alkhozaae, Chairman of the Capital of Municipal Council.
According to Jasim Redha, General Secretary, the council took up the discussion of renovating old and traditional houses that required serious repairs and establishing a committee to study the nature and the extent of the repair as well as finding funds for it.
The other item was a bill on changing the zoning of Hoora area, which was passed by the council. The proposal on establishing a hotline for the expats to use in times of emergencies was dropped as the council found that there was already a facility on the egovernment website.
The proposal to put up food stalls in parks on holidays was temporarily declined as it would contradict the existing laws of the Ministry of Health, and because there were no provisions to confirm the quality of the food being served at the stalls, said Jasim Redha.
