Commander-in-Chief attends military drill

Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa yesterday attended part of the command military exercise, being held under the theme “Kingdom’s Shield.”

BDF military units are carrying out the drill with the support of the National Guard and the Interior Ministry.

The BDF Commander-in-Chief inspected the sites of the “Kingdom’s Shield” exercise, and was briefed on its goals and stages, as well as the units participating in it.

He confirmed military drills are key indicators that test weapons, units and commands’ competence and evaluate officers and participants’ level. It is also one of the key requirements to enhance the level of combat readiness.

He expressed thanks and appreciation for the exerted efforts and outstanding military performance.

The BDF Commander-in-Chief pointed out this drill comes within the framework of the joint military cooperation among the BDF, National Guard and Interior Ministry. He underscored the importance of joint drills in upgrading military competence through the exchange of expertise and field skills, in all areas of combat operations and battlefield logistics.

He said BDF is keen on developing and modernising training approaches, in line with the duties and modern military requirements based on contemporary scientific and military theories.

He appreciated the joint exerted efforts at this drill, which will conclude tomorrow. He also commended the effective participation of everyone.

BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dhiab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Hassan Al Nuaimi, BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources Major-General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and other BDF senior officers were present.
