ALU denounces Iranian interference
Manama : The Arab Lawyers Union (ALU)'s Permanent Bureau issued its concluding communique for its first session of 2017 which convened in Manama under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. It condemned the Iranian interference in Bahrain's internal affairs and its attempts to promote terrorism and incite sectarian sedition. It praised the reform policies in the development and human rights field.
The ALU Permanent Bureau's session was held at an invitation by Bahrain Bar Societyfrom March 23 to 25 under the theme "Gulf Security Part of Arab National Security". The opening of the conference was attended by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa who represented HRH the Premier as well as senior officials.
The bureau hailed Bahrain's reform policies in the development and human rights field, praising the kingdom's advanced legislations to achieve justice and equality. It described preserving countries' unity and sovereignty as a prerequisite for Arab national security. It stressed countries' right to confront terrorism with all means in order to protect social unity and stability and preserve the state' s institutions and constitutional system.
The ALU Permanent Bureau emphasised that false reports issued by some international organisations have been laid bare as they aim to exercise pressure to achieve political interests which have nothing to do with human rights. It added that it has become clear that those organisations lack credibility as their reports are full of fallacies and biased for they keep ignoring other countries where there are grave human rights violations.
The bureau demanded those organisations to stop interfering in countries' internal affairs and respect judicial independence.
