Bahrain School competes in Oasis track meet
Manama : Eight students of Bahrain School represented Bahrain in the Oasis Track meet held in Amman, Jordan at the Amman Baccalaureate School.
Brendan Donovan won the 1500 meter race, and came second in the 800 meter. Monica Blakely advanced to the 200 and 400 meter finals and was placed 2nd in the 400 m and 4th in the 200 m events. She went on to win the 7th position in the high jump and 3rd in long jump.
Latavia Edwards was placed 3rd in high jump and made into the finals for long jump in the 6th position.
Gregor Stolte came 4th in the 800 meter and 8th in the long jump. Delta Bradshaw was placed 6th in long jump, and made it to the 100 m finals where he was placed 7th.
The 100 m relay team of Delta Bradshaw, Gregor Stolte, Hassan Aldrees, and Nicolas Bissonnette won the second place. Hassan Aldrees also participated in the 100 m event.
Nicolas Bissonnette made it into the finals for shot put finishing fourth.
Erik Johnsson made it to the finals in both shot put and discus. Latavia Edwards and Monika Blakely advanced into several final rounds, which saw the Junior Varsity Girls team taking up 3rd place at the tournament.
The Bahrain School Track team was the only school to have all their participants compete in the finals.
Students display skills at talent show
Bahrain Middle High School held a talent show that allowed students to show off their skills and acts ranging from singing,dancing to playing the piano.
The audience enjoyed original music performed by Helena Blaisdell-Black. In between acts, MCs Noah David Perry and Zain Alalawi entertained the crowd.
