Tim Murray elected new chair of St Christopher’s School
Manama : Tim Murray was elected the new Chair of St Christopher’s School Board of Governors at the latest board meeting. He is also the CEO at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba).
Murray takes over from Sael Al Waary, Deputy Group CEO of Bank ABC, who stepped down after serving on the Board for 10 years as a member, and 5 of which as Chair.
Tim has served on the Board for the past two years as Founder Governor from Alba, and has lived in Bahrain for 10 years. He is the father of two children who both attended St Christopher’s for eight years.
“It is an honour to be elected Chair and given the trust by the Members of the Board. Thanks to the leadership of Al Waary, and of Ed Goodwin and the strong management team, St Christopher’s today is a highly recognised school in Bahrain and in the region,” Murray said.
“As Chair, I plan to build upon the strong foundations in place, and focus on how to strengthen St Christopher’s and ensure that it continues to lead amongst British Schools regionally and globally. We live in a world of constant change, and I believe that change equals opportunity. It is our job to embrace this change and keep St Christopher’s strong and competitive for future generations.”
Sael Al Waary said, “It has been a privilege to be a part of St Christopher’s community as Chair, Board member and parent. St Christopher’s is the prime choice for families for British education, and I have full confidence in the current Board and Management of the school to continue its strong legacy.”
Ed Goodwin, Principal of the school extended his thanks and appreciation to Al Waary to his service and support for the school.
“St Christopher’s will continue, to develop still higher levels of performance to ensure that it offers the very best education it can for its students.”
“I would also like to welcome the three new Governors to the Board, Brendon Hopkins from Bank ABC and Babak Sultani from Investcorp, as well as Stephen Harrison-Mirfield who is the new Parent Governor.”
David Axtell was elected Deputy Chair, Graham Scopes as Honorary Treasurer (co-opted) and Dina Kasrawi as Honorary Secretary at the meeting.
