St. Christopher's School, Bahrain Indian School dominant in Fourth Mini Olympics
Manama : St Christopher’s School and The Indian School put on dominant shows in the athletics championships of the Fourth Mini Olympics.
In the athletics events, St Christopher’s took firm control in the boys secondary stage competition, while the Indian School won most of the intermediate stage contests on the inaugural day of the two-day athletic events, staged at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
There were 12 competitions featuring - 60m, 100m, 150m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 1,000m, 1,200m, 4x60m relay, 4x100m relay, high jump and long jump for boys intermediate and secondary stages.
It was St. Christopher’s School athletes who stamped authority on the majority of the secondary stage short-distance races on the first day of athletics, taking home the 100m and 200m gold medals.
In the intermediate stage, the Indian School bagged most of the medals, including gold medals in the 150m, 300m, and 4x100m relay races.
The Mini Olympics will come to a close today with the closing ceremony at 10am at Isa Sports City’s Bahrain Volleyball Association hall in Riffa.
It will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity WHH orks and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President.
