SIRIM to open its first GCC office in Bahrain
Manama : SIRIM QAS International, a Malaysian government company, under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations, yesterday announced that it will soon open its first GCC branch office in Bahrain. The announcement was made at its launch at Downtown Rottana in Manama.
During the function, chairman Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said that they selected Bahrain for a branch office as it is a place strategically located. It also features investment incentive supported with the reputation of a modern industrial, business and service centre of the region, he said. Bahrain will also act as gateway to expand our growth in the Middle East region, he said.
“We will soon be signing a MOU with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MOICT) of the Kingdom of Bahrain to collaborate in the areas of conformity assessment, which in time will facilitate trade,” the chairman said.
Hameed Yousif Rahma, Asst. Undersecretary for Domestic Trade, said, “Bahrain has always been a free country and has welcomed international trade to develop in the native soil.”
SIRIM QAS is a company engaged in product certification, inspection and testing.
