Sol wins richest race
Manama : Second favourite Vale Do Sol owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hussain Makki, won the seventh and final and richest race for the Bahrain Gold Cup sponsored by VIVA for imported three years and upwards over 2,000 metres and worth BD10,000 yesterday at the 22nd race meeting at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
Coming in second by a short head was third favourite Shogun owned by Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalia, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, followed in third by a neck was the favourite Wakame owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hassan Al Saffar.
Fourth place six lengths behind was Telefon owned by Karrar Abdulhadi Ali Al Baqqali, trained by Taleb Ali and ridden by Abdulla
Faisal.
