Six new schools to be opened next year
Manama : As a part of implementing the government’s work programme to provide more educational services for citizens, six new schools will be opened in the next academic year, Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi revealed yesterday.
Two schools each will be opened in Muharraq as well as the Northern and Southern Governorates, he stated.
“The new schools are a secondary girls school in Hunainiya, a primary and intermediate boys schools in Isa Town, an intermediate boys school in Hamad Town and a primary and intermediate girls schools in Malikiya,” he said.
He also added that students of Busaiteen Intermediate Girls School will be transferred to a new school with the same name and the school’s building will be turned into a new Intermediate Boys School in the same region.
Inspecting a number of such schools to get updated on finalising the requirements for their operation, the Minister asserted that the new public schools were designed according to the latest global educational criteria and house contemporary environment-friendly characteristics.
The government’s work programme 2015-2018 consists of building 10 new schools nationwide following a new and developed model. Each school will contain 30 to 47 classrooms capable of accommodating 1000 to 1600 students. It will also have many facilities including lifts, a central air conditioning system, Wi Fi Internet service, science labs and multi-purpose halls.
