Fire breaks out in Sitra
Manama : Civil defence teams in the Kingdom yesterday responded to a large fire to a warehouse in Sitra.
The blaze that occurred at a warehouse that contained large quantities of chemical substances for manufacturing plastic, aluminium and nylon sheets was extinguished after 12 hours of fire fighting.
Three civil defence personnel sustained minor injuries in the operation.
“Shortly after the case was reported, civil defence teams were deployed to the scene. 20 vehicles and 78 personnel put out the fire and prevented the spreading of the flames to the nearby establishments,” General Director of Civil Defence said.
He added that the Public Prosecution was notified and investigations are on to determine the reason behind the fire.
