Bahrain ministry adopts Microsoft OMS for digital transformation
Manama : The Bahrain Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs (MYS) has announced the adoption of Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS) as part of its move to drive digital transformation with cloud management.
The move, according to the ministry, is aimed at optimising operations, eliminate the technical difficulties in the previous system and to minimise overall maintenance costs.
Commenting, Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder, the minister of Youth and Sports said, “We have always been committed to supporting the government in implementing programmes that are geared towards improving all business functions within the Ministry.”
The minister also highlighted that the partnership with Microsoft enables the ministry to contribute to the progression of the country.
Sherif Tawfik, Country General Manager, Microsoft Bahrain and Oman said, “Microsoft prides itself in offering support and services that make the cloud more accessible to enterprises around the globe.”
While commenting on the cost effectiveness of the system, Wafa al-Amadi, Assistant Undersecretary for planning and promotion, Ministry of Youth and sports said, “Microsoft’s OMS provides us with a smart and efficient solution that minimises costs, handles vast amounts of workloads and offers comprehensive maintenance and time reducing capabilities to get things done in real time.
Expressing a similar opinion, Hamad al-Saie, Public Sector Manager, however, pointed out that most organisations face multiple challenges while trying to adopt cloud technologies, which affects their productivity
Meanwhile, Nani Butti, Chief of Information Technology at the Ministry, said that the ministry chose to implement new processes to address and eliminate the technical challenges in the previous system.
