Phil Sadler clinches Al Dana Memorial Trophy
Manama : An annual golf tournament held at the Royal Golf Club in remembrance of all the people who died in the Al Dana Dhow tragedy on 30 March 2006 has raised BD200. The money will be used by the Christian Community Cemetery Committee (CCCC) to support the upkeep of a memorial headstone in the old Christian Cemetery in Manama.
Organised by “The Royalists” golf society, cash was raised by donations from the competition’s participants.
The 2017 Al Dana Memorial Trophy was won by Phil Sadler (72 nett), Sam Hobday (74) was runner up and also won the gross category (72) of the competition with Rob Lane (75) third.
Nearest the pin side contests on all the par 3 holes on the Club’s Montgomerie championship course were won by Gordon Bennie (hole 2), Stewart Tankard (hole 7), Jason Smith (hole 12) and Andy Love (hole 16).
