Bahrain, Sudan to bolster ties

ManamaSudan President Omar Hassan Al Beshir arrived for an official visit here yesterday. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the President at the Grand VIP lounge at Sakhir Air Base before heading to Sakhir Palace where official welcome protocols were held for the Sudanese President.

Both the leaders held talks and reviewed the bilateral relations as well as the latest Arab, regional and international developments. 

Welcoming the President and his accompanying delegation, HM the King hailed the visit to Bahrain and Sudan’s support to the Bahraini people. 

HM King praised the good qualities of the Sudanese community in Bahrain, stressing their tremendous contribution in various fields. 

King Hamad lauded the cooperation between both countries, emphasizing the need to further enhance it. Both leaders also stressed the importance of holding the joint committee’s meetings to discuss on finalizing the  agreements signed by both countries to further promote the Bahraini-Sudanese relations.

HM the King has directed to take the necessary measures to open Bahrain’s embassy in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum. The King extended thanks for Sudan’s honourable stances towards Bahrain and its people, commending the key role of the Sudanese community in the Kingdom’s growth and development. He also voiced respect of the Bahraini people to their Sudanese brethren, pledging more efforts to further consolidate the outstanding bilateral relations.

HM the King hailed cooperation between Sudan and the GCC countries, thanking Sudan for its role in protecting the Arab interests and backing crucial issues.

The Sudanese President thanked HM the King for the rousing welcome and hospitality, lauding both countries’ keenness to foster bilateral cooperation at all levels. He voiced appreciation of the Sudanese leadership and people of Bahrain’s inherent Arab stances under the leadership of HM the King.

HM the King held a lunch banquet in honour of the Sudanese President and his delegation which comprised Minister of the Presidency Dr. Fadhel Abdullah Fadhel, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ahmed Abdulaziz Ghandour  and several other ministers.
