New Millennium clinch under-12 championship
Manama : New Millennium School defeated Combined Schools (British) by seven wickets to clinch the Under-12 School Cricket Championship despite the latter making an impressive 170 for two in 20 overs.
Leading the way for Combined Schools was the skipper Rishab Ramesh (127 not out, 11x4, 2x6) to score the first century of the tournament with support from opening partner Yashyas (13).
In reply, the New Millennium School reached the target thanks to skipper Ansh Katayan (37) and Ethan Sequeira (53 not out) as they maintained 10 runs per over right from the beginning and reached the 50 mark in the sixth over.
Later Aryan Koul (28 off 16 deliveries) made the difference and the target easier for New Millennium School as they secured victory with five balls to spare.
The CBA President Saleem Elyas was the chief guest.
