Royal Golf Club holds Masters Golf
Manama : The Royal Golf Club (RCG) held its own version of Masters week with two golf events over the last weekend, starting on Thursday evening with a 9 hole par 3 event won by Jason McNamara (gross 28 on count back), followed by Ben Elsworth (28) who was runner up.
It saw the participation of over 40 people, which was followed by a roof-top nearest the pin challenge which saw golfers hitting golf balls off the terrace of Links restaurant onto the 18 th green. The fun contest was won by Ladies Captain Stacey Thomas.
On Saturday, golfers each picked the name of a real competitor playing in the Masters at Augusta, Georgia, US and following an 18 hole stableford competition, their scores were combined with that of their “partner’s” third round score. Sanjay Lal (77 points) who picked Pat Perez from the hat won the tournament, while Ronan Smith (74) who was partnered up with James Hahn was runner up, with Jason McNamara (74) and his “partner” Kevin Chappell coming in third. Winner Sanjay Lal will be presented with his very own Masters green jacket at the Club’s second quarterly presentation evening towards the end of June.
