Sol wins richest race

ManamaSecond favourite Vale Do Sol owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hussain Makki, won the eighth and richest race for the Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup for imported three year olds and upwards over 1,600 metres and worth BD12,000 yesterday at the 23rd race meeting at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

Coming in second by a length and a half was pre-race favourite Wakame also owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hussain Al Makki. In third place three quarters of a length behind was Emerald owned by Late A Rasool K Darwish Stable,trained by Abdulla Haji and ridden by Gerald Avranche, followed by a further length behind in fourth by Shipyard owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Abdulla Faisal.
