Bahrain Grand Prix- the most entertaining of them all!
Manama : If there’s anything that can be learned from this year’s F1 spectacle, it is the fact that Bahrain has been making a significant impact on the global Formula One community.
When the first Grand Prix launched in Sakhir circuit in 2004, there was uncertainty overshadowing the island’s ability to host such a mega sports event, considering the country held very little motorsport heritage. However since then, the Bahrain Grand Prix has only been growing in popularity and stance. Being the first Middle Eastern nation to host a modern Formula One race, it has been receiving endless praise for its ability to bring an event that is as thrilling for race enthusiasts as it is for those who crave entertainment off-track.
This year, visitors from different parts of the world, coming to Bahrain for the first time to catch the Grand Prix action, weren’t left disappointed; in fact they praised the country’s ability to host a plethora of grand entertainment on the sidelines. Speaking to DT News, Kevin Whittaker who came from the UK for the first time, stated how fascinating the spectacle was. “This is my seventh grand prix and the first in Bahrain. I love how everything had been put together. I have never seen anything on this level before where so many different artists have come together to entertain the audience for the whole day. My favourite act was the comical performance by the Dancing Grannies.”
Joining him was his mother Jean Walters, who also praised in similar tunes, “It’s just been incredible. We came yesterday and were able to enjoy last night’s concerts too. Enrique was brilliant as he engaged with the audience. It’s not something you see at every grand prix. What Bahrain has put together is absolutely exceptional; it’s certainly the most entertaining grand prix in the world.”
Nick Wait and Helen, who were also on their first trip to Bahrain, stated that they have been to many Formula one races over the years and this year made plans to visit Bahrain. “It’s a wonderful country and everything looked absolutely fantastic. We are highly impressed by what we have seen and will wait anxiously to know what 2018 Bahrain Grand Prix holds,” Nick shared with DT News.
