IMMAF preparations on track

ManamaColonel Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), held an intensive meeting with Kerrith Brown, President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and Densign White, IMMAF Chief Executive Officer, to review the arrangements by the Kingdom in organising and hosting the IMMAF World Amateur Championships, scheduled for November 12-19.

The meeting was attended by Abdulrahman Mohamed Al-Ali, the BMMAF Vice President, Waleed Sayar, BMMAF Secretary Treasure, and several members of the BMMAF Council Board.

Colonel Al Khayyat conveying the greetings from of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth, Honourary President of the Bahrain Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), founder of Khalid Bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA), President of the High Organising Committee of the World Amateur Championships, to the IMMAF President and IMMAF CEO.

They then reviewed matters relating to the events time plan, which was adopted by Shaikh Khalid and dealt with the location of the tournament, the EXPO event that will accompany the event, as well as the regulatory and logistical matters related to hospitality, security, safety and transportation.

Brown said, “We are hosting this championship for the first time in Asia and we are confident Bahrain will make this a success between the BMMAF and the IMMAF and thanks our hosts for the warm hospitality and reception by our hosts.”

White said, “I express my pleasure at the clear preparations by Bahrain to host the fourth edition of the IMMAF World Amateur Championships in November. He stressed that this comes from the interest and keenness of Shaikh Khalid’s continued support to this sport in the Kingdom.”

A dinner was also hosted  on the sidelines of the meeting, by Abdulrahman Mohamed Al-Ali, the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) Vice President, in honour of the IMMAF officials in the presence of  Colonel Al Khayyat, President BMMAF, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, Bahrain Fencing Association President,Waleed Sayar, BMMAF Secretary Treasure and several members of the BMMAF Council Board.
